Weedy Sea Dragon carrying eggs. Copyright Paula Lay.

Weather conditions were great this weekend – high tide at approx. 9.20 am and entered on an outgoing tide. Current was relatively calm, the weather hit the 30s and the water temp was a cool 20 degrees. Nick and I entered on the East Wall and headed out to the sand bar before turning back North-West to follow the wall of the island, exiting at the goat track as we were told the inner west was absolute rubbish. All up, had a cruisy 48 minute dive.

Highlights in this video:

  • Blue and green gropers
  • Cuttlefish
  • A WEEDY SEA DRAGON HOLDING EGGS!
  • Cone snail (poisonous – do not touch)
  • Nudibranchs
  • Catfish
  • Schools of Bullseye fish
